This summer, Mike will represent KKPoker as part of the KK ELITE Team in Las Vegas.

“Now that I’m part of the team, with a lot less experience than the other members, I need to study a bit,” he said.

That honesty is part of what makes his story so compelling. Mike isn’t arriving in Las Vegas as a seasoned professional. He’s arriving as a poker enthusiast who earned his seat through KKPoker and is determined to make the most of the opportunity.

With it being the first time Mike will attend Vegas’ biggest live poker tournament series his preparation plan is simple but practical.

“I’m going to try to play a couple of tournaments that last a whole day to practice staying focused.”

For many players, the physical and mental demands of a long tournament day can be just as challenging as the poker itself.

By building endurance and concentration ahead of time, Mike hopes to be ready when he takes his seat among thousands of players chasing poker glory.

When asked what advice he would give beginners, his answer focused on bankroll management rather than strategy.

“Poker isn’t intimidating when you’re not risking your whole bankroll. Play with what you can afford to lose.”

It’s a simple philosophy, but one that has helped him maintain a healthy relationship with the game.

Even when discussing superstitions, Mike remained grounded.

“I don’t have any superstitions. I believe in luck more than skill.”

“Tom Dwan, because his range is so wide that poker isn’t boring like folding as a nit.”

“I’m going to try to survive longer than Robert Renaud’s 41st-place finish!.”
