KKLIVE Montreal 2024 was a huge success! The NO RAKE event featured a CAD$92,400 prize pool after 308 online Day 1 entries.

34 lucky players secured a place in the money and came together for the live Day 2 battle on 23 November. 

Up for grabs was a CAD$17,318 top prize! Among the competitiors was KKPoker ambassador David Dongwoo Ko, KKPoker content partner PocketKyles, and KKPoker Vegas Dream winner Christopher Alcindor. 

Christopher, also known online as ‘PokinStaR’, was in an early battle with his friend David and was ultimately eliminated during their hand to claim 26th place. However, there was to be a success for Christopher, as he came through a 71-player field in the CHARITY PKO side event for a CAD$5,325 top prize. The tournament created a CAD$3,800 donation to a local charity, Maman Dion Foundation.

WPT Main Event champion David continued on but hit the rail in 25th place. Up-and-coming poker talent and vlogger PocketKyles had a deep run in 8th place for CAD$2,520. Be sure to follow his poker adventures in partnership with KKPoker on his social media. 

Among the final table players was 7th place-finisher Calvin Gilbert, who won his Online Day 1 ticket via only a $2 FLIP MTT. One player who traveled further than others in search of KKLIVE glory was Minoru Oka. After qualifying online, the Japanese player traveled from his home nation for a poker adventure. Oka’s patience and determination were rewarded with a 4th place finish for CAD$6,300. 

Ryan Jensen secured 3rd place for $8,680, which left Trent ‘$mokeman’ Hooper and Andrew ‘thegoose’ Goosen in a heads-up battle for the title.

Ultimately, Andrew prevailed for CAD$17,318 and forever put his name on the champion’s trophy, with Trent a worthy runner-up for CAD$11,970.

The event helped to bring together the local poker community, many of who play against each other on KKPoker. Players could relax during the free dinner provided and meet new poker friends.
