2-7 Triple Draw

KKPOKER BADUGI

2-7 Triple Draw is now available to play online at KKPoker.

“Finally, my favorite game of all Mixed Games. It’s very easy; you try to do the opposite of Hold’em!” said KKPoker ambassador Jon Kyte.

Learn the key rules, hand rankings, and some tips below.

HOW TO PLAY 2-7 TRIPLE DRAW?

It’s time to think LOW.

Make the best hand: 7-5-4-3-2 (At least two different suits to prevent holding a Flush).

But why not 6-5-4-3-2? Because in 2-7 Triple Draw, that hand still counts as a Straight.

As the game name suggests, 2-7 relates to the best five-card hand, and ‘Triple Draw’ relates to the opportunity to draw replacement cards on three occasions during each hand.

2-7 Triple Draw features a pre-draw betting round, followed by a betting round after each card draw.

BLINDS

Pre-Draw Betting Round: Button, Small Blind, and Big Blind are used. Each player is dealt five cards.

The player to the left of the Big Blind acts first, and the action continues clockwise following traditional poker betting.

Draw Betting Rounds: The active player to the left of the Button acts first, and the action continues clockwise.

CARD DRAWS

After the Pre-Draw betting round, players may discard up to five cards and draw replacements.

In a KKPoker 2-7 Triple Draw game, tap the cards you want to discard, then tap the ‘Discard‘ button to confirm. Players can discard any number of cards or choose to discard zero cards by tapping the ‘Stand Pat‘ button.

There are three Card draw betting rounds before any remaining players must showdown their hands to win the pot.

2-7 TRIPLE DRAW HAND RANKINGS

Important to remember in 2-7 Triple Draw:

Think the opposite of Texas Hold’em. You do not want to hold a Flush or a Straight.

Ace is high only.

Royal Flush is the weakest overall hand.

Here are the 2-7 Triple Draw game hand rankings from strongest to weakest:

7-LOW: 7-5-4-3-2; 7-6-4-3-2; 7-6-5-3-2, etc.

8-LOW: 8-5-4-3-2; 8-6-4-3-2, etc.

9-LOW: 9-5-4-3-2; etc.

10-LOW: T-5-4-3-2; etc.

JACK-LOW: J-5-4-3-2; etc.

QUEEN-LOW: Q-5-4-3-2; etc.

KING-LOW: K-5-4-3-2; etc.

ACE-HAND: A-5-4-3-2 (this is not a straight in 2-7 TD because Ace is only valued as High.)

Hands containing pairs, two pairs, three-of-a-kind, straights, flushes, full houses, four-of-a-kind or straight flushes rank below qualifying unpaired, non-straight and non-flush hands.

2-7 TRIPLE DRAW TIPS

“There is no board (community cards) in 2-7 Triple Draw, so in this game, you will have to dig in and read your opponent. The main information you get is whether they bet or not, what position they have, and how many cards they change during the draw opportunities.” said ambassador Jon, who has competed in Mixed Game events at WSOP, including the prestigious $50K buy-in Poker Players Championship event, coming 16th in 2025.

For example, if your opponent decides not to draw for new cards, they are either representing a strong hand or bluffing.

Using this information on thought processes can be vital to greater success and enjoyment in a game like 2-7 Triple Draw.
